It all started on a trip my wife Edna and I Gord Took in Alaska in 2002. When we took our motorhome to a reputable service center in the area for service, I asked them to check my air filter. Since we had been on a lot of dirty roads, when checked it was found to be very dirty and in fact need a cleaning. While it was being cleaned—the old fashioned way—I thought to myself there has to be a better way to clean air filters. While having this thought the manager came to talk with me. In conversation I expressed to him my thoughts, and he replied You build a machine that works, and I will buy it. From then on the wheels have been constantly turning. The first four went into the recycle bin. The next three were sold and did a good job of cleaning but took a lot of compressed air and took fifteen minutes to clean a filter. We now have developed our latest Model which is a huge improvement we now need very little compressed air and we now use a volume of air flow. Our new AERO VAC Filter Reclaim Unit is more efficient in cleaning and our overall operating costs are down. We now clean a filter in approximately 2½ minutes, with an overall cycle of approximately 5 minutes, for loading, unloading and weighing the filter.

In our New AERO VAC filter reclaim unit, air distribution is controlled automatically, as it pertains to each filter size. As to not damage any filter, the smaller the air filter the less air it takes. You can clean an air filter many times. However, you should take note of types of material your system is drawing into the filter. For example, the gritty material road dust rock dust welding dust and smoke, does more harm to an engine than cleaning the filter with our new AERO VAC filter reclaim unit. An engine draws in more air then what we use in our machine to dislodge and remove dirt from filter, we do not use air pressure we use air flow. This method renders great service life when compared with washed filters and resultant loss of fabric filter media.

When investigating the efficiency of a machine, a key performance test was performed. Taking two similar filters, one a used filter clogged with dust and dirt, and the other a new filter. The new filter weighed 7lbs., and the used filter weighted 7 lbs. 7 oz. The used dirty filter was then cleaned in the “New cleaning machine” and then was weighed again, and it was found to then weigh in at 7lbs. 1oz. That concludes that 6 oz. of “dirt” had been removed resulting in an 85.7% removal rate. Filters vary from 31” in height by 24” in diameter and down to 3” inside diameter. This results in saving time and money. The cleaning is 1/3 less the cost of the replacement and it can help ecologically by reducing additions to landfills.
